804: The Deadly Mantis Movie: If it isn't already obvious...a town is terrorized by a giant Mantis, who might I add, is quite deadly. Opening: Its casual day on the SOL. Crow and Mike refuse to participate. The high strung Servo gets upset. Host Segment 1: Some neighborly mutants drop by Ape World to drop off a bomb for Bobo, Peanut and Pearl. There's some trouble getting it to detonate so Mike helps them out. All assumed dead as Mike destroys his first of many planets. Host Segment 2: Mike and the 'Bots conduct a rather brief and empty memorial service for Pearl. Suddenly Pearl shows up - with Bobo stowing away with her - and is in mad pursuit of the SOL. They hide behind an asteroid and dim the lights to escape. Host Segment 3: Mike, Crow, Servo and Gypsy drive long hours into the dark night of space, trying escape Pearl. The only thing they can get on their radio are AM country stations, much to their dislike...although Crow says he likes the last song before Movie Sign. Host Segment 4: Servo drives for a spell, hits a creature, brings it on the SOL to revive it, and it eats Crow in a demonstration of affection. Mike then tries throwing a cherry bomb down it's throat, which seems to affect Crow more than the creature. End: Crow makes a meat loaf. The gang receives a letter from Peanut, who is alive after all, and doing quite well in Wisconsin. Pearl, with her unwitting accomplice Bobo, remains in hot pursuit of Mike and The 'Bots. Bobo wants to stop for sweet corn. Stinger: The smarmy corporal out Donny Most-ing the others. Special Notes: Listen to the voices of the country music singers. They are clearly those of Mary Jo Pehl, Kevin Murphy and others. Go on to 805: The Thing That Couldn't Die Go back to 803: The Mole People |
