512: Mitchell Movie: Joe Don Baker is... Mitchell, a hard-drinking, oaf of a police officer. In the midst of a stakeout, he stumbles into a drug ring. He gets a hooker as a payoff but she falls for him (shuddering). Eventually, he busts that bad guy in a boat chase. Opening: Joel shows the robots his toothpick sculpture of Monticello. The bots get to destroy it before the commercial break. Host Segment 1: Deep 13 is being audited and therefore has no invention exchange. They hired a temp by the name of Mike, who was helping filing away Frank's old heads. Joel then displays his Daktari Stool. Host Segment 2: Joel, Crow and Tom are getting ready to go on an expedition. When she is alone, Gypsy overhears the mads plotting to do away with a "be-jumpsuited fool". She then flies into action. Host Segment 3: Gypsy tries to think of ways to get Joel off of the SOL. "Maybe a charter flight, or maybe throwing him off the ship?" During this time, Crow and Tom pogo by and begin to sing the theme song to Bonanza (with the words). Host Segment 4: Gypsy explains the situation to Mike, the temp. He notices that there's an escape pod hidden in a box of Hamdingers in the cargo bay. He "tricks" Frank into giving him his keys and Gypsy is allowed access. End: While reading a letter, Gypsy sends Joel back to Earth by means of the Deux Ex Machina. Joel says goodbye from the Hexfield. The mads are furious once they learn that Joel is gone, and then they plan to send Mike up in his place. Stinger: Mitchell arguing with that little kid: "You're lying through your teeth." Buzz off." Buzz off." "I said buzz off, kid!!!" Special Notes: This was Joel's last show as host. He wanted to move onto other things and wasn't really a "camera-friendly" guy. Also, Joel mispronounced the name of his favorite movie, The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao; he pronounced it Loo instead of Low. Go back to 511: Gunslinger |
