102: Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy (w/ Commando Cody 1)
Short: The Government hires Commando Cody to fly to the moon and get the Moon Men to stop picking on us.
Movie: A Psychiatrist and his wife unleash Popoca, an Aztec mummy from his crypt. The mummy then turns out to be an ally against the evil Dr. Krupp. In the end, the mummy does battle with a hopelessly overbuilt robot before it can return.
Host Segment 1: Joel demonstrates his Airbag Helmet for Motorcyclists while Dr. Forreser shows off his "Chalkman." Then he shows off a new security system he's installing.
Host Segment 2: Demon Dogs start attacking the satellite and Tom is sent out to save the ship. But he fails miserably as the dogs "take care of business."
Host Segment 3: Enooch, the Demon Dog king, tells Joel and the bots that they have come to worship the giant dog bone (meaning the SoL). He begins to explain on how to get the Demon Dogs to leave, but before he can say it, Gypsy eats him.
Host Segment 4: Crow goes outside, dressed as Enooch to try and convince the Demon Dogs to leave. But like on Tom Servo, they "take care of some more business."
End: Joel fires a ball out of the pod bay door. The Demon Dogs "fetch" and the SoL is safe again,... or is it?
Special Notes: The Bots aren't present in the invention exchange. This episode marks the first MST3K episode that has a short, a concept that would be used for many years to come. Also, look closely in the theater; when Joel stands up to cover the singing lady's mouth, it looks like he has something inbetween his fingers, like how one would hold a cigarette. Was Joel smoking in the theater?????
