101: The Crawling Eye

Movie: A giant homicidial eye goes around and decapitates people on a mountain... That's about the whole plot right there.

Host Segment 1: The show opens to the mads who are talking about their new "hide-a-way." Joel then produces his invention, an electric bagpipe. After demonstrating with Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, Dr. F shows off his chemical that can help stop underarm perspiration, though he injects it into Larry. Then Dr. F points out that they now work in Deep 13, a secret lab beneath Gizmonic Institute. Then the movie, a really bad one, as they say, is introduced.

Host Segment 2: Joel explains to the bots that Human heads, aren't like robot heads, and that they can't be removed. Then the bots go over different figures of speech involving heads, like "having your head up the boss's @$$."

Host Segment 3: Gypsy uncoils herself around the bridge, and Joel has to tempt her out of hiding with some Ram chips. Then she says she has an itch, so Joel and the bots start scratching all over the place.

Host Segment 4: The Bots say how they think Forrest Tucker is scarier than the crawling eye itself with his long, dramatic, pauses. Then Joel explains that a large, crawling Forrest Tucker just wouldn't be as scary as a human appendage crawling around.

End: Joel offers ram chips to the bots if they say a good and bad thing about the movie. They do pretty well, until it's Gypsy's turn. She doesn't seem to know, so Joel eventually shoves the whole Ram chip bowl into her mouth.

Special Notes: This was the 1st Comedy Channel (Central) episode. And it is still quite different than the episodes we have come to love. The mads now operate in Deep 13, as explained above, the SoL has a new look, and the robots were spiffed up a little. Apparently, the KTMA crow was used for the theater segments of this episode, they just changed his look a little. Also notice that there aren't any buttons on the table, Joel just slaps the table at movie sign. Also, in the theme song, you can see Josh and Jim's heads sticking up behind the table, and you can see their shadows on the wall in Host Segment 2. Finally, Tom Servo walks into the theater by himself, showing that it's not impossible, he's just lazy! Though, this contradicts what was said in later episodes. There is no opening segment between the theme song and the 1st host segment.
